About Daniel Wiggins

Daniel Wiggins is an English-born guitarist, songwriter, and producer currently based in Perth, Australia. With a background in theatre arts and violin, Daniel’s musical journey began early—he discovered guitar at age 11 and played his first pub gig at just 12. After emigrating to Australia with his family in 2007, he began composing and recording his own music, developing a deeply personal and wide-ranging sonic voice.

In 2012, Daniel joined the progressive metal outfit Morphica, co-writing their debut EP Prequel and performing on 8-string guitar. The following year, he became a member of the WAM award-winning band Dilip n the Davs, appearing at major festivals and opening for international artists. He also co-produced their 2016 LP, Beautiful Delusion, further establishing his credentials as a producer.

He was also a founding member of the blues band Whiskey Nips, a raw and energetic project that channelled his deep roots in traditional styles through a modern lens. More recently, Daniel leads his own ensemble, the Daniel Wiggins Group, blending progressive rock with soul-inflected improvisation. Parallel to this, his solo catalogue spans acoustic, ambient, industrial, and progressive genres—ten albums to date—all self-recorded and mixed. His 2023 opus, The Fool in Four Movements, is a 22-minute suite composed and performed entirely by Wiggins, showcasing his multi-instrumental abilities and compositional depth.

Outside his own projects, Daniel is an in-demand producer, collaborating with and producing music for a range of independent artists. He has also been commissioned to compose original works for live events and multimedia installations, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to meaningful, imaginative music-making across contexts. He has also delivered guitar clinics and contributed to panel discussions at music festivals, sharing insights into creativity, composition, and independent production.
